George Gerapetritis is an Attorney-at-Law, member of the Piraeus Bar and Assistant Professor of Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens, and holds an LLM from the University of Edinburgh and a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford. He has been a scholar of the State Scholarship Foundation of Greece, of the British Council, of the French Conseil d’Etat and of the U.S. German Marshall Fund. He has published 3 books and more than 50 articles and contributions in greek and foreign legal journals and has addressed more than 50 conferences worldwide. He is member of the Board of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation (OTE SA), researcher at international research centers, member of the editing committees of legal journals, general secretary of the Hellenic Union for Legislation and Democracy and member of the Union of Greek Constitutionalists. He has been appointed representative of Greece at international fora and was counsel to the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of the Interior, Public Administration and Decentralisation. He has been counseling private companies and public organizations and practices law before the Supreme Administrative Court of Greece, the European Court of Justice and the European Court on Human Rights.
