Publication of the collective volume of the 9th International Conference on Maritime Law

The contributions presented at the 9th International Conference on Maritime Law, which was organized by the Piraeus Bar Association and took place on the 13th-15th October 2016, have recently been published.

The collective volume, edited by Professor L. Athanassiou, contains 34 reports by distinguished contributors, academics, judges, lawyers, and professionals in the Greek and international shipping area, elaborating on the subject of “Maritime Safety and Security: Legal implications to ships, cargo and the human element”. The contributions are construed on the basis of three main sections: the institutional framework governing safety in navigation, the consequences of safety defects and breaches in the execution of charters, and finally, the problems that arise from the human element at sea safety.
