2006-present :  Senior Researcher- European Public Law Organization – in charge of a program aiming at the compliance of the insurance legislation of Cyprus with the European Community precedent.

1997-present:  Participation in a large number of research programs, as for instance: (i) research and preparation of a study for the European Commission entitled: “The legal regime and the functioning of stevedoring services in the organizational context of the European ports”, (ii) research program of the Athens Academy entitled: “Greek seamen, the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and the International Labour Organization”, (iii) research program of the European Public Law Organizationconduct of a study under the European program THALIA in the sector of transport and telecommunications, (iv) research program of the Demokritus University of Thrace, on the subject: “Enforcement of the new liberalization framework regarding rail transport”.

Present:  Attorney at law entitled to plead before the Supreme Court – Member of the Piraeus Bar Association- Partner of the “Athanassiou-Gerapetritis and partners” Law Firm.

Specialized in maritime law, competition law (European and national), energy law, company law as well as European commercial law. Representation in national and European courts as well as arbitration courts.

Enrolled in the arbitrators’ index of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping and the arbitrators’ index of the Regulatory Authority for Energy.

2008–present:  External Legal Advisor of the Regulatory Authority for Energy – Drafting of secondary legislation on the liberalization of the gas market.

2006-2008:  Full Member of the Hellenic Competition Commission

2003-2006:  Alternate Member of the Hellenic Competition Commission – Participation to a Work Group on the incorporation of Regulation 1/2003 into the national legal order.

2002-2004:  Participation to a Work Group commissioned by the Regulatory Authority for Energy on the reform of the legal framework for the liberalization of the gas market. The goal of the Group was the preparation of a bill for the reform of the greek law according to Directive 2003/55/EC – Draft of a Supply Code.

2000-2001 :  Legal Advisor of the Greek Minister of Transport and Communications

1999-2002:   Legal Service of the National Bank of Greece

1998-2000:   Legal Advisor of Cyprus Bank of Development on EC Transportation and Corporate Law
